I wanted to keep the parish updated on some sewer lining work and manhole sealing that will be taking place in Compton over the next couple of months. They will not be there continuously over this period, but our contractors will be seen in the area. Work being completed - Manhole sealing, this uses a resin injection process to prevent water ingression into the manhole chambers. We are sealing 19 manholes in School Road, 5 in Horn Street, 4 in Hight Street, 1 manhole in both Wallingford Road and Illsley Road Sewer Lining, this prevents water ingression through sewer pipes. Lining of sections of sewers will be completed in the below locations, I have included the approximate meterage as well. Illsley Rd 69 metres, Hight Street 119m , Horn Street 124m. This will all help prevent the impact of surface water / groundwater on our sewers which in wet winters has led to sewer flooding. There may be some disruption to the village while this essential work is completed and we thank the residents for their support.
